The Delusions of Religion...

"I don't try to imagine a personal God;it suffices to stand in awe at the structure of the world, insofar as it allows our inadequate senses to appreciate it."
-ALBERT EINSTEIN

Religion is one subject that anyone can indefinitely speculate about... You don't need to believe in it, you don't need to follow it, you don't need to have mastered in it. Religion is merely a perspective. The religion you choose to follow is simply the way you choose to look at life, to look at humanity, to look at this world.... It is the way you choose to look at this universe. Ironically, our humankind has come to a state that forces me to rephrase... Religion is not merely a perspective. The religion chosen for you, to follow, is simply the way, chosen for you, to be looked at in life, by the whole of humanity. It defines the way the world will perceive you. Your religion is how this universe is going to function around you. You were born in this religion and thus the "choice" was actually innate! Why does it have to be so? Why is that religion has to be anything based on birth only? It is definitely true that the society and environment in which we are born, and are brought up in, has a great impact on our thinking and personality. However, did we ever stop to think if the society is all that defines us? Is it fair to presume, that there are and shall not be any freethinkers born in that society ever?  Doesn't religion sound like a deliberate way to restrict one's thoughts? To restrict one's creativity? To restrict one's views? It is like looking through blinkers...  Also, I have always believed, It is good to guide, but very bad to preach! If your thoughts and ways are right, if they are legit, if they are sensible, you will not need to preach! You will only need to put forth the idea and even the weakest mind will be able to understand the good of it. That is the greatness of a good idea. The only marketing it needs is to give exposure and not to convince. So, why, does something as great as religion, need marketing through birth??!! Amusingly, this 'innate religion' concept gives rise to an even more funnier concept- Religion conversion. When a person chooses to believe and live life in a certain way that is more closely overlapping with the principles of some other religion, he needs to "convert"! I mean, just because he didn't have the ability to understand his own views before birth, he must be subjected to some funny ritual to be allowed to follow it now? Isn't it ridiculous that a fetus cannot take life decisions?! My basic question is, Why does religion have to be so rigid yet so delicate a matter? Frankly, I actually find it as, almost, an unnerving experience to be writing a blog article on this topic...  However, as I stated before, Religion is one subject that anyone can indefinitely speculate about...   On further speculation, I understood, when we think about the concept of religion, what comes to our mind first, is the basic differences between different religions. So, what exactly is the basic difference? The perception of God? I suppose that's about it?  Well, some would say, it's not just the perception of God but also the lifestyles that different religions preach? While it is true that there may be some differences in the lifestyle, they all preach about the same old very dear humanity concept. Thus, I would say, the fundamental difference would definitely boil down to  just how differently they perceive God. To be even more precise, it is simply how and how not, a person chooses to look or not to look, at God. Even atheism or naturalism is a kind of religion. Science too is a religion. God is just the explanation for the part of the universe that humans failed to understand. The other part is Science... Each person can have his own perception. That's the only way it is and the only way it should be... Why do we have to constrict thoughts and beliefs in the name of religion?  Does it not suffice to "stand in awe at the structure of the world, insofar as it allows our inadequate senses to appreciate it" ?

P.S. I do not in any way intend to hurt or disgrace any religion or anyone who believe in them. This post is merely my opinion on why religion be based on birth and not allow free thinkers to follow any 'way of life' that they wish to. Religions and their beliefs intrigue and make me wonder too, in all curiosity. Every religion is great in its own way and I respect every one of them.
